On April 16, 2026, a methodological seminar dedicated to the assessment of learning outcomes within educational programs was held at the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety of the Institute of Industrial Technologies, West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University, as part of the School of Pedagogical Excellence.
The aim of the seminar was to improve approaches to assessing students’ academic achievements, as well as to discuss modern requirements for the development and evaluation of learning outcomes in the context of updating educational programs.
During the seminar, faculty members of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety presented their practical experience and methodological approaches to assessing learning outcomes. Teaching staff from other departments of the institute also took part in the discussion, which helped broaden the professional dialogue and consider assessment issues from different methodological perspectives.
Participants discussed current issues related to the development of assessment criteria, the formation of learning outcome descriptors, as well as ensuring transparency and objectivity in assessment procedures.
Particular attention was paid to the alignment of learning outcomes with educational standards, their practical orientation, and their connection with the development of students’ professional competencies.
The seminar included an exchange of experience, discussion of key challenges, and the development of recommendations aimed at further improving the methodological work of the departments.
The event contributed to enhancing the quality of the educational process and strengthening professional collaboration among faculty members.
