On September 30, 2026, lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies at West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University, A. Gilmanova and N. Khairlykyzy, held an educational and cultural event entitled “Mangilik El – Martebeli Til” for first-year students to mark the Day of Languages. Students of groups IYa-111, IYa-121, PD-111 and PD-121 took part in the event.
The aim of the event was to foster students’ respect for the state language, promote the importance of the Kazakh language in society, develop speech culture and effective communication skills, and encourage respect for multilingualism and other languages.
The event included interactive competitions, quizzes and creative tasks. Students took part in “Blitz Questions,” “Pearls of Words,” “Let’s Speak Kazakh!” and “Polyglot,” demonstrating their language skills and knowledge. During the discussion “Respect for Language is Respect for the Nation,” participants explored ways to expand the use of the Kazakh language among young people and shared their ideas and suggestions.
At the end of the event, the participants emphasized the importance of language as a national value and concluded with the shared message: “Language is Our Common Value!”
