Each year on June 26, the world observes the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. This date was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1987 as a reminder of the urgent need to unite efforts in combating drug addiction, protecting public health, and most importantly – safeguarding future generations.

West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technology University actively supports initiatives aimed at preventing drug abuse. The University regularly conducts educational and preventive events such as lectures, seminars, trainings, and meetings with experts. Special attention is given to promoting strong life values, fostering a culture of health, and supporting youth in choosing a conscious and sober lifestyle.

Drug addiction is not only a medical issue but also a social challenge. Effective prevention is only possible through the collaboration of all sectors of society – education, healthcare, family, and civic initiatives. Everyone can contribute – through awareness, support, and personal example.

The active work of our university in this direction during the year was highly appreciated by the regional leadership, and the Vice-Rector for Educational Work of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University Abekeshev A.I. was awarded a letter of thanks from the Akim of the West Kazakhstan region.
