On the eve of Victory Day, May 5, 2025, a memorial event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War was held at the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies as part of the curatorial hour. The main theme of the meeting was the words “We remember. We are proud”, as a symbol of respect for the feat of the front-line soldiers and all who brought Victory closer at the cost of incredible efforts and sacrifices.
The event began with a presentation showing the biographies of heroic participants in the Great Patriotic War – citizens of Uralsk. Among them are Galina Sergeevna Trofimova-Kalinushkina, Boris Sergeevich Sholubay, Kasym Zhangaliev. These stories deeply touched the audience, reminding them of the price that ordinary people paid for a peaceful sky above their heads. The next stage was the reading of Boris Vasiliev’s story “Sashka”, which emotionally immerses the audience in the atmosphere of frontline realities and emphasizes the spiritual strength of the Soviet soldier. A special part of the event was the poetry block, in which the students of the group read poems dedicated to the war, courage and memory of the fallen.
