On November 15, 2024, at the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies at the Institute of Education and Management, Candidate of Philology, associate professor Amanbaeva Zaure Zhienalievna held a Master Class on “The importance of critical thinking skills in Academic Studies”. At the master class, Zaure Zhienalievna shared her experience and advices. The master class was held for 3-4 year students and young teachers. During the open seminar, senior students shared opinions on some of the difficulties in writing their thoughts in an academic essay writing. Case studies were analyzed where students used 5 elements of critical thinking, how to articulate their position clearly; also made an analysis of the main changes in indicators in the illustration, and compared the data using complex lexical and grammatical constructions. The master class has achieved its goal. As a result of the master class, along with the goals set, each member of the group, using feedback, acquired a new experience of self-knowledge and self-understanding.
