The “Reading Nation” project is being implemented pursuant to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, dated 16 May 2026, “On Measures to Develop a Culture of Reading and Build an Intellectual Nation.”
On 16 October 2026, the Institute of Education and Management at West Kazakhstan Innovative-Technological University hosted an event titled “A Reading University” as part of the “Reading Nation” marathon. The event aimed to encourage young people’s interest in books, cultivate a culture of reading, promote national literature, and celebrate spiritual values.
The event brought together the institute’s faculty members, librarians, and students. First-year students in the Kazakh Language and Literature programme—Tolganay Zhardem, Ranida Baiturina, Aiaru Faizulla, Madkhat Rashidov, Ainara Nabiolla, and Dilnaz Rustamkyzy—shared their impressions and discussed Dulat Isabekov’s novella Gauhar Tas.
Darmiya Kaiyrbayevna Netaliyeva, Candidate of Philological Sciences, briefly spoke about the works of D. Isabekov she had read and encouraged students to read books. Library staff introduced participants to an exhibition featuring 15 literary works selected for the “A Reading University” project.
