On September 26, 2025, a national scientific and theoretical conference entitled “A Master of Words Who Strengthened the National Spirit: The Cultural and Historical Image of Gumar Karash” was held. It was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding educator, thinker, poet, and writer, Gumar Karash.
The large-scale event was organized by the Akimat of the West Kazakhstan Region and the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University.
The conference was attended by renowned scholars, literary scholars, historians, and intellectuals from across the country, who discussed the creative, educational, and social activities of Gumar Karash.
The event was moderated by Sabyr M.B., Doctor of Philology, Professor of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University. Conference participants, historians, and literary scholars from Almaty, Astana, and Kyzylorda, presented insightful papers on the manifestation of national ideas in educational activities, as well as the linguistic and artistic features of Gumar Karash’s works. The scholars conducted an in-depth analysis of the national spirit and ideas in the great poet’s poetry, prose, and journalistic works.
At the conference, Deputy Akim of the Zhanibek district, Akhmetov Zh. spoke about a series of cultural and educational events held in the region in honor of the great poet’s anniversary. He also ceremoniously presented badges and celebratory medals, specially prepared for this significant date, to the scholars and literary figures present at the conference.
At the end of the conference, participants noted the need to widely publicize the name of Gumar Karash, who made a significant contribution to the development of spirituality, and to popularize his works for future generations.
