February 10, 2025 as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet Army and Navy in the Great Patriotic War, the 82nd anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad and the 36th anniversary of the withdrawal of a limited contingent of Soviet Army troops from Afghanistan, an event was organized by the compliance service with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the NGO “Veterans of Military Operations in Afghanistan Afghanistan in the West Kazakhstan Region” of Lieutenant Colonel in reserve, knight of the Order of Kurmet Anatoly Vladimirovich Borovskikh and colonel in reserve, Knight of the Order “For Service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR”, and Sergey Nikolaevich Pungin , a participant in the elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant .In addition to the orders, many medals for service in the armed forces sparkled on the military uniforms of veterans.

Moderator of the meeting, Head of the IOT Compliance Service, Colonel of Police in reserve, Associate Professor of the Department of Law, K.yu.n. Rakhmetov T.X noted that this year all CIS countries will solemnly celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory of the multinational people of the Soviet Union and its valiant armed forces over Nazi Germany. The military and labor feat of our older generation, which defeated the enemy at the front and in the rear, liberated the countries of Europe from fascism, bringing us all a peaceful and bright future, is immortal.

We must not forget about the enormous cost of Victory-it is more than 26 million lives of citizens of the USSR, we suffered the greatest human losses of all the countries that fought in this war, caused great damage to the country’s economy. Kazakhstan, with a population of more than 6 million at that time, sent 1,200 soldiers and officers to the front, half of whom did not return from the battlefields. 120 war veterans will celebrate the Great Victory in Kazakhstan today. The heroes of the Soviet Union, soldiers Manshuk Mametova, Alia Moldagulova, Sadyk Dzhaksygulov and many other heroes of the Great Patriotic War, participants in combat operations in Afghanistan, were 18-19 years old at the time of the feat, as were the first-year students present in the hall. During the war, 9 out of 10 bullets were cast from lead mined in Kazakhstan.

Speaking at the meeting, K.B. Kairzhanov, a member of the IOT compliance service, senior lecturer at the Department of General Education, M.I.N., told the students in detail about the victory of the Soviet Army in the Battle of Stalingrad, which ended on February 2, 1043, brought a turning point during this war because the strategic offensive initiative was completely transferred to the Red Army. The West Kazakhstan region was the only one in Kazakhstan that was the frontline zone of the Stalingrad Front, the territories of the now Janybek and Bokeyordinsky districts were subjected to more than 500 air raids by enemy aircraft. The 62nd army that defended Stalingrad consisted of 55% soldiers drafted from Kazakhstan. A film about the Battle of Stalingrad was shown.

The participants observed a minute of silence for all the dead of our compatriots during the Great Patriotic War and during the fighting in Afghanistan.

At the meeting, military-patriotic songs were performed by the senior lecturer of the Department of Law, M.Y.N. Cherkesov M. A. and a 2nd-year student of the same department Nadirbaeva A.

The guests answered the students’ questions. At the end of the event, T. Rakhmetov presented the veterans with letters of thanks and gifts on behalf of the rector of the ZKITU Shakeshev B.T., thanking the faculty and students for their participation in the event, wishing them good health and well-being.
