From November 21 to November 25, the annual VI «Quality Week – 2022» on the theme «Digitalization of education: challenges of our time» was held at WKITU.
The goal of the quality week: Formation and development of professional and methodological competencies of university teachers in the context of digitalization of education, improvement of their professional skills in order to increase the level of knowledge of students, as well as the effective use of digital educational technologies in the educational process.
Within the framework of the methodological week, 23 events were held, including 11 open classes, 2 master classes, 3 methodological seminars, 4 round tables with the participation of employers and graduates, 1 training for teachers and 2 intellectual games. In all the events held, teaching staff and university students, as well as invited guests from the production, took an active part, exchanged experiences, shared ideas in creating favorable conditions for the formation of a competitive specialist in the labor market.
The quality week began with an open lesson of the Candidate of Philological Sciences, Assoc.Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Amanbayeva Zaure Zhienalievna on the topic “Semasiology (Types and sources of homonyms, synonyms and antonyms)” and Semantic classification of phraseological units” in the discipline Fundamentals of language theory. During the seminar, Assoc. prof. Amanbayeva Z.Zh. shared her experience at Oxford University, where she studied herself, explained the theory of linguistics to students using innovative methods.
Innovative teaching methods were effectively used in open classes conducted by university teachers, information and communication tools and training platforms were actively used.
Senior teacher of the Department of educational and scientific disciplines S. A. Bisaliyev, teacher of philology, culture and methods of training A. A. Mazhitova in their open lessons-“innovative directions in the organization of cultural and leisure activities”, “language culture of a teacher of the specialty of Physical Culture and sports” told effective assistance in organizing the work of a teacher and specialist in the field of Culture.
The teachers of the Department of Natural Sciences conducted an intellectual game “Information literacy” among the 1-3 courses of the EP “Physical Culture and Sports”. The game allowed to form students’ social and communicative abilities, to form skills of cooperation and interaction, public speaking.
At the methodological seminars “Historical science: in digital humanities”, “Kuzhattardy tsifrlandyru arkyly kitapkhanada akparat beru zholdary”, organized by the departments of “History and Law” and “Philology, Culture and teaching methods”, not only teaching staff and students of WKITU took an active part, but also practitioners – Nasipkalieva A.S. – head of the department organization of excursions and excursion services of the Historical Museum of the West Kazakhstan region, Zharmukhanbetova Zh.B. – Director of the technical department of TORUS LLP.KZ”; Zhailanov A.S. – history teacher of the M. Mametova Lyceum School No. 27; Sabyrgalieva N.B. – PhD, lecturer at the West Kazakhstan University named after M.Utemisov; Kazikhanova A.E. – history teacher of Secondary school No. 10., Kulchikova A.K. – head of the department of the regional children’s and youth library named after Hamza Yesenzhanov, Ibraimova M. – librarian of the regional children’s and youth library named after Hamza Yesenzhanov, Satagalieva S.M. – senior lecturer of the West Kazakhstan University after M.Utemisov, who discussed new developments in the field of education, science and culture and shared effective ways to use innovative IT applications.
As part of the quality week, the Accounting and Finance Department held a field seminar “Digital environment for accounting development” on the basis of TRISTAR LLP. The purpose of the field seminar is to analyze the problems in the field of digitalization in accounting, as well as to identify the main ways and factors of digital accounting development. At the seminar, the Director of TRISTAR LLP, D.N. Khrysev, and the faculty of the department discussed the possibility and effectiveness of introducing new digital technologies in teaching financial, economic and accounting disciplines.
Under the guidance of senior teachers of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, B.K.Baymukhanova, J.E.Kadyrzhanova, G.A.Zhumagulova, a master class was organized on the topic “Methods of using metaphorical associative maps” for 4th year students of the EP “Psychology” and “Pedagogy and Psychology”. The master class was conducted by an experienced psychologist A.E. Nauanova. During the master class, A.E. Nauanova showed the methodology of using metaphorical associative maps in psychological counseling and psychological diagnostics and answered questions of interest to students and teachers.
The master class was continued in the Local History Museum of the West Kazakhstan region. Senior lecturer R.S. Islyamov conducted a master class on the topic “Digital transformation of museums” for teaching staff and students of the EP “Tourism”. In the master class, the participants got acquainted with innovative technologies such as a virtual guide, an interactive map, and information sensor kiosks for museums that transfer museum elements into the digital world.
In order to discuss and share experiences on the quality of training and employment of graduates, develop mechanisms for constructive interaction between the university and employers, departments of Economics and Management, Foreign Languages and translation, round tables were held with the participation of employers and graduates on the topics “Graduate of the XXI century. The present and the future in the light of partnerships”, “Graduate employment: opportunities and challenges”. During the events, students and graduates learned from employers about the conditions of internships and internships, the availability of vacancies, the specifics of interviews, as well as employment opportunities. The issues of introducing elements of dual education and the need to create innovative educational programs that are in demand today in the labor market were discussed. Following the results of the round table organized by the Department of Economics and Management, a cooperation agreement was concluded with PKF Property Valuation VP LLP.
The actual and final event of the Quality Week-2022 is the round table ” Digital education is the key to modern education”, organized by teachers of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology Tasimova Aislu Akhmadievna – PhD, Professor, corresponding member of the International Academy Concorde of France, graduate of the Bolashak program 2014 and Khalikova Botagoz Tulegenovna – Master of Pedagogy and psychology, senior lecturer. Along with the speeches of the Faculty of the University, Ph.D., assoc.Professor M.K. Azhgalieva, Ph.D., Assoc.Professor A.S. Irgaliev, M.P.N., senior lecturer B.T. Reports of invited guests were heard – Director of the Belgian Council of Education A.Pozdnyakova, teacher of pedagogical and psychological disciplines of the Higher Pedagogical College named after Z. Dosmukhamedov V.A. Dauletova, Deputy director for educational and methodological work of the A. S. Makarenko Secondary School No. 6 A.J. Suyungalieva, undergraduate student of the Eurasian National University A.A. Kulikov. During the round table, the scientific and methodological foundations of digitalization of education, the development of educational resources in the context of digitalization in universities, current directions of digital transformation of education in secondary schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, colleges were discussed.
On the scale of the events organized within the framework of the quality week, the best new interactive educational methods were used: project training, group work organization, video analysis, predictive reading, reflexive analysis using digital technologies.
