Vorozheykina O.I., Ph.D. Professor of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University and founder of the NGO “Center of Russian Culture”, together with the chairman Bykov S.S., took part in the organization of the Regional Festival of Children’s Creativity “Visiting Grandfather Korney!”, timed to coincide with the 140th anniversary of the famous Soviet writer KorneyIvanovichChukovsky, which was held as part of a series of events dedicated to the “Year of Children” in Kazakhstan.

The festival was supported by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Uralsk, the regional library for children and youth named after KhamzaYesenzhanov, the regional Russian drama theater named after A. Ostrovsky and the public cultural and educational fund “Old Uralsk”. The festival program was attended by creative teams of city schools No. 6, No. 7 and No. 25, artists of the regional theater named after A. Ostrovsky, soloists of the Center for Extracurricular Activities, Children’s Music School named after D. Nurpeisova, who presented dramatizations based on the works of KorneyChukovsky and musical numbers.

The head of KSU “Kogamdykkelisim” M.M. Kambetov made a welcoming speech to the participants of the festival. At the end of the festival, the participants were awarded commemorative diplomas and gifts. The happy childhood of young Kazakhstanis depends on adults who need to make every effort to preserve peace and prosperity of the country, for the benefit of future generations.
