On November 22, 2024, Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Institute of Education and Management of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University, Candidate of Pedagogy, corresponding member of the International Academy of Concord of France, graduate of the presidential program “Bolashak” (2014) Tasimova Aislu Akhmadievna with students and magistrands of the Institute of Education and Management organized an International seminar on the topic: “Student-centered learning, education, teaching and evaluation: basic principles, conditions and parameters”.

In the introductory part, an extensive review on the issue of student centrism was expressed by Mashanova Samal Amangeldievna, acting first vice-rector of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University: «About the goals and objectives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the organization of student-centered education at the university: the experience of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University»

Then the moderators-students Abdrakhmanova Polina and Kanat Tolkynai took the initiative into their own hands, according to the plan they presented the floor to the speaking students who expressed their opinion: Kabysheva Saida, Issataev Rustam, Mironova Julia, Barakova Assel, Salieva Malika, Musieva Sabina, 1st year magistrand Altukhova Anastasia. They answered their questions about student-centered learning, expressed their opinions on the motivation of learning, the responsibility of the student, the quality of learning, the role of the student and the teacher, interaction and communication in the student-centered learning group.

Aislu Akhmadievna Tassimova, the organizer of the seminar, acted as a summary and coverage of student-centrism in comparison with teacher-centrism: “Student-centered education at a university in order to implement the agreement of the Bologna Declaration on the modernization of Higher Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

Professors and lecturers from abroad took an active part in the international seminar online: Seydikenova Almash Smаilkyzy– Candidate of Philolog, professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University,visiting lecturer at the University of Poitiers, France, grantee of the post-doctoral program at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland (2012-2014), twice winner of the scholarship of the Swiss Confederation; Nurzhan Abdrazakov is a senior lecturer at the International University of Tourism and Service, MSc. University of Surrey (UK).PhD doctoral student at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (Turkey); Zhukenova Gulpara Baltabaevna – Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, associate professor of the Department of Pedagogy at the Gumilev Eurasian National University in Astana (Kazakhstan).

Sultaniyazova Nasiya Zhailauovna, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, PhD, highlighted the role of the Department in implementing the Bologna process agreement on student centrism.

Following the results of the training seminar, director of the Institute of Education and Management Tasmagambetov Asset Sembaevich, Doctor of Historical Sciences, associate professor, expressed gratitude for holding the seminar with international participation of the faculty, expressed his solidarity in the application of innovative technologies of the XXI century, presented certificates to participants and organizers.

In turn, a member of the Expert Group Khalikova Botagoz Tulegenovna, senior lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, Master of Pedagogical Sciences, presented methodological recommendations on student centrism to teachers, heads of departments of the Institute (compiled by Tasimova A., Sultaniyazova N., Khalikova B.)

As  a Feedback expressed their opinion Candidate of Pedagogy, associate professor Nabidollina Sh.S. and magistrand of the first course of EP Pedagogy and Psychology Asauova G. The international seminar was organized in the “inverted classroom” format, large-scale, comprehensive, topical issues were discussed at the international level.
