On October 8, 2025, the advisors of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering, together with students of the educational programs 6B07201/6B07204 – “Oil and Gas Engineering”, visited the West Kazakhstan Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.
One of the oldest museums in Kazakhstan, the West Kazakhstan Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, was founded in 1836. The building that houses the museum is an architectural monument built in the Moorish style in 1879.
The museum’s exhibition is presented across 8 halls: archaeology; the Golden Horde period and the emergence of the Zhaiyk settlement; the history of the Junior Zhuz; the history of the Bukey Khanate; the Soviet period; the history of art, science, and education in the West Kazakhstan region; the ethnography of the Kazakh people; and the history of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The students received detailed information about the history of Kazakhstan from the museum and expressed their gratitude to the museum staff.
