Zarina Ruslanovna Nurmagambetova, a student in the 6B03101– Psychology program, won the first place in the international research competition “Best Research Paper,” organized by the ENDLESS LIGHT in SCIENCE International Research Center (Astana). Under the guidance of V.V. Lukpanova, a senior lecturer and Master of Pedagogy, the student submitted her research paper, “The Impact of Short Digital Entertainment Content on Cognitive Performance: Attention and Memory.”
The study analyzes the impact of short digital media content on students’ cognitive functions. An empirical study conducted on a sample of first-year students revealed a statistically significant decrease in attention span after viewing short videos, while auditory memory performance showed minor changes and remained within the normal range. These results demonstrate the selective impact of digital entertainment content on cognitive processes. This achievement confirms the high level of scientific training of students of the educational program 6B03101–Psychology and their active participation in research activities.
