On February 24, 2024, 2nd year student of the educational program “Physical Culture and Sports” of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University Azhgalieva Alina became the silver medalist of the Youth World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Gdansk, Poland.

In international competitions at a distance of 1500 meters, Alina reached the final and received a prestigious award. It is especially significant that this is the first high award for Kazakhstani short track speed skating masters achieved at the World Championships. In the above distance, Alina became the silver medalist, the Chinese Wanyu Liu won the bronze medal, and the Hungarian athlete Maya Dora Somadi won the title of champion. It should be noted that Alina has previously competed in many sports competitions and received prizes. Now she is preparing for the next stage of international short track competitions.
