The educational program 6B07501 – «Standardization and certification» (by industry) is based on competencies and developed in accordance with the requirements of the State Educational System of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the NRC, professional standards, the material and technical base of the University, special educational and methodological literature, as well as the needs of employers and graduates on the basis of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Education» dated 27 July  2007 No. 319-III LRK (with amendments and additions as of 20.04.2023)

 When developing an OP, in order to train specialists with the knowledge and skills most relevant to the requirements of the labor market, it is necessary to be guided by approved professional standards and industry qualifications frameworks posted on the website of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs «Atameken». The content and logic of the construction of the OP is determined by the regulatory requirements of the PK EOM, the requirements of employers and the internal regulations of the university.

The educational program provides for students to choose their field of study in one of the following two specializations: Standardization and certification of the agricultural industry and Standardization and certification of the industrial industry.

During the revision of the OP , the following additions and changes were made to it:

– the disciplines «Product quality indicators and evaluation methods» and «Agricultural product quality assessment» are combined into the discipline «Agricultural product quality indicators and evaluation methods»;

– disciplines: «Testing and quality control of livestock products» and «Testing and quality control of crop products» are combined into the discipline «Testing and quality control of agricultural products»;

– at the request of employers, a number of new disciplines have been introduced, such as «Calculation and testing of shelf life of food products», «Fundamentals of agricultural production»;

– the content of a number of basic and specialized disciplines has been revised in order to bring them into line with the requirements of the Professional Standards of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs «Atameken» (Table 1).

During the development, constant periodic review and implementation of the educational program, cooperation with employers is systematic: there is a practice of discussing and coordinating the content of the educational program with employers in the region; involving employers in the educational process and the management of practices, reviewing methodological developments of teachers; including employers in the state certification commissions, questioning and assessing employers’ satisfaction with the quality of training specialists.

The most important component of the educational program is the training and production practices that students undergo in the quality control departments of leading enterprises and organizations of various sectors of the economy, both in Uralsk and the West Kazakhstan region, and the Western region of the republic as a whole, which are the bases of practices.
