The Department of General Education, visiting the sacred sites of the West Kazakhstan Region has become a cherished tradition. On the 18th of May 2026, the Head of the Department of General Education Disciplines, Kurmanova Zh.B., organised and led an expedition for first-year students of the study programmes ‘Architecture’, ‘Automation and Control’, ‘Law’, ‘Life Safety’, ‘Transport Organisation and Operation’, ‘Oil and Gas’, and ‘Electric Power Engineering’ programmes. The Zhumagazy Khaziret-Dademata Mausoleum, located in the Syrym District, is a remarkable place in the barren steppe, gradually becoming a centre for the spiritual development of local residents. The aim of the expedition is to recount the history of the repressed and other historical facts. The Dademat shrine has become a unifying platform for representatives from different regions, nationalities and ethnic groups.

Not only do people from various regions of Kazakhstan come here, but also people of different nationalities from Russia, contributing to the collection of the museum library at the mausoleum. Associate Professor K.A. Ikhsanov of the Department of Natural Geography showed the students books on geology and introduced them to the region’s rock formations. The students were taken to the sacred spring, whose water never freezes; many wish to bathe in it.

The Syrym-Datuly Historical and Ethnographic Museum comprises five exhibition halls: the Syrym-Batyr Historical Hall, the Kadyr Mirza Ali and Regional Culture Hall, the Ethnographic Hall, the Nature and Archaeology Hall, and the Hall of War and Labour Veterans, Medicine and Sport. The expedition was a success, and the students knew about regional customs and traditions.
