Educational program 6B09103 – “Veterinary Medicine” was developed on the basis of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Education” dated July 27, 2007 No. 319-III ZRK (with amendments and additions as of April 20, 2023) of the Industry Qualification Framework and Professional Standards of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “ Atameken”, as well as the current regulatory documents of PK. When developing the OP, the following regulatory documents of the NCE RK “Atameken” were used:

Professional Standards:

– Professional standard “Breding camels for dairy purposes.” Appendix №. 11 to the order of the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the NCE RK “Atameken” dated October 26, 2022 №. 190;

– Professional standard “Sheep and goat breeding”. Appendix №. 14 to the order of the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the NCE RK “Atameken” dated October 26, 2022 №. 190;

– Professional standard “Breeding and raising pigs”. Appendix №. 20 to the order of the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the NCE RK “Atameken” dated October 26, 2022 №. 190.

The educational program provides for students to choose their area of ​​training in one of the following two specializations: “Veterinary Medicine” or “Veterinary Sanitation”. During the revision of the OP, the following additions and changes were made to it:

– a number of overlapping disciplines are excluded, such as: Laboratory science, Breeding of farm animals, Natural resistance of the animal body, Deontology, Ethology of animals, Methodology of scientific research, Veterinary legislation and regulations, Modern problems of veterinary medicine, Management in veterinary medicine, Therapeutic technology, Avian diseases, Diseases of young animals, Diseases of small animals.

– combined disciplines: Veterinary microbiology and virology (Veterinary microbiology, Virology), Animal pathology (Pathological physiology, Pathological anatomy), Veterinary pharmacology and toxicology (Veterinary pharmacology, Veterinary toxicology), Veterinary surgery (General surgery, Private surgery, Practical surgery).

– at the request of employers, a number of new disciplines have been introduced, such as Emerging and transboundary animal diseases, Organization of veterinary affairs.

During the formation, constant periodic review and implementation of the educational program, interaction with employers takes on a systematic character: the practice has developed of discussing the content of the curriculum together with specialists from employers in the region; involving employees in the educational process at all stages of training (including practice); reviewing teachers’ methodological developments using surveys of participants in the educational process); inclusion of employees of employing organizations in work in their specialty, monitoring compliance with legal requirements.

The educational program has two important components: educational and practical training. These practices play a critical role in developing students’ knowledge and skills. They provide students with the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice and gain valuable work experience in various agricultural organizations.

One of the places where students can undergo educational and practical training is agricultural business entities. In addition, students can also undertake internships in the civil service, breeding associations, veterinary hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories and other organizations related to agriculture. Educational and practical training are an integral part of the educational program.
