On February 27, 2020, the West -Kazakhstan Innovative- Technological University of the Humanities and Law Faculty hosted a gala event on the occasion of Thanksgiving.
The purpose of this event is to instill in the younger generation a sense of tolerance, friendliness and respect for each other On January 14, 2016, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan ¬ Nazarbayev, by his decree, established a new holiday in the country – Thanksgiving, which is now celebrated on March 1, on the day of the formation of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
At one time, the Head of State noted that the common historical fate of the ethnic groups inhabiting modern Kazakhstan had a positive effect on the mentality of the people, their life ideas and aspirations, and formed values and ideals common to all ethnic groups.
“It would be fair to celebrate the day of formation of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan – March 1 – annually celebrate as the Day of gratitude of all ethnic groups to each other and to the Kazakhs who showed mercy and accepted these people as relatives. This would bring us even closer.
This day can become a bright holiday of mercy, friendship and love of all Kazakhstanis to each other, ”said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The rector of the West- Kazakhstan Innovative – Technological University Gabdualieva R.S opened the festive event. congratulating all those present and outlining the importance of such events to enhance the spirit of patriotism and veneration of the older generation.
The festival was attended by the Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan. The Armenian ethnocultural public association “Masis”, the Tatar Cultural Center, the Ukrainian ethnocultural association, as well as the Head of the Department of KGU “Kokamdyk Kelisim” of the Akim of the West Kazakhstan Region, Zhumin Asiya Tulebaevna made a speech, spoke in detail about the holiday “Thanksgiving”.
At the end of the event, Vice-rector for educational work of ZKITU Abekeshеv A.I., presented letters of thanks to guests from the Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan. The event continued with a cultural program.
